Three years ago I found myself single, aged 43, and the only one in my friendship group who wasn’t married. This wasn't quite how I'd planned it, but I knew I was going to need to be proactive if I was going to change the situation.

Over the years I’d been on many of the mainstream dating sites at one time or another, including Match, MySingleFriend and Plenty Of Fish (for my sins!).

You may be surprised but even as a photographer I’d always struggled finding pictures of myself that I liked enough to post. Mainly because I’m normally the one behind the camera and the only images I could find had been from nights out, and we know how they normally look.

A new approach was required.

So with a freshly ironed shirt I grabbed my camera, a tripod and headed out. One full memory card later, I had a selection of images that I was happy with, and my sisters remarked “would do”, so with fingers crossed I put them online.

To my surprise they seemed to work, and my first real connection was with an amazing girl, who’d funnily enough grown-up in my hometown and had been friends with my sister but who now lived 100 miles away - was this fate?

To cut a long story short, 3 years on we are living very happily together after a life-changing relocation for me from Wiltshire to Devon, along with a proposal that was (thankfully) accepted! Our wedding is planned for 2021!

Now, I won't say it was all down to the photography, but I'm sure it helped a little in capturing my fiancé’s gaze just long enough for her to ‘like’ me.

That’s exactly what happens when you look at profiles on social media, that special something catches your eye and you think “….they look interesting/nice/cool”.

Shoot Locations & Travel

I use a number of stunning locations in and around Exeter that are ideal for this style of shoot.

I allocate specific days each month for my lifestyle portrait sessions, and I can tell you which sessions are available during our call.

If you’re based further afield that’s not a problem, I’m more than happy to travel and will find the perfect location closer to you.

All travel is included to locations within 20 miles of Teignmouth, TQ14, mileage beyond this distance will be charged at 45 pence per mile (there and back).
